• Vanya: How did we let Conservatives lose in Canada?

• Alyosha: Trump plays 2D chess, not 3D. If you tell him his is the best, he stops playing altogether.

• Vanya: The public portion of his cabinet meetings is an unhealthy display of adoration. I just can’t see how he thinks this stuff helps him…

• Alyosha: The more you hate him, the more he needs to be loved. That’s what TDS is all about. It’s the energy that drives him.

• Vanya: How can you have a strategy when the only real strategy is to be loved?

• Alyosha: The man gets ALL his information from TV. Trump treats the legacy media like a girlfriend. The more she dumps him, the more he wants to be loved by her desperately. Instead of starving the legacy media for oxygen, he goes on the interviews and berates fake news. Which gives them meaning and a sense that she got her nails in his heart. Trump doesn’t actually want to stop the war in Ukraine or Israel or whatever, but he dreams that CNN will have to report that he is a genius, he is the greatest ever lived. This is what animates him. The fake news is essential to his ego.

• Vanya: What is wrong with the American civilization when you have to choose between Biden or Trump? Perhaps it was always like that. I know we can’t really compare Hunter Biden to the functional Trump kids or even Jared. But what is the fundamental difference between converting of political power to payments from Ukraine’s Burisma or Qatar? Is there a difference between the gas from Ukraine or Qatar?

• Alyosha: Perhaps the entire grift of modern art in the 20th century is caused by photography making traditional art obsolete. In other words, the real reason for the decline of art is photography, but the promotion of the decadent art is only a sideshow? Trying to glamorize the decline (and making it profitable). In other words, making it look like it was intended all along.

• Vanya: The plane or rocket is flying aimlessly, but someone needs to give the illusion to the passengers that we are firmly in control. It’s like Elon saying, don’t worry, will be on Mars soon. Elon is saying let’s fire all federal workers so they can be more productive in the private sector. Meanwhile, he is working on Optimus robots that will make work and thinking obsolete. Now what?

  

• Alyosha: Are we actors in a make-believe revolution? American civilization is a testimony to the power of a clean slate. Who needs Canada when you have a clean slate of Greenland? Destruction is too far along that you can’t really make it “great again”. But to admit it is too horrible. So let’s have a big party. MAGA all the way!

• Vanya: Tarkovsky said he disliked the cinematography of his early film Solaris, but he tried to comprehend if it’s possible to be human in a subhuman situation. There are people in the film, on the spaceship, that only look human, but really ghosts of the past. You can say it was a very Soviet challenge. But not unique to the USSR…
