Curtis Yarvin understands the history of ideas. I see he banned all comments. I thought I had a special commenting ban “for 100 years”. But now everybody? I still find his writing style infuriating but somehow magnetic. Over the years, Curtis transitioned from dealing red pills, to now dealing black pills only. Once you understand mechihism you see it everywhere, in politics, ideas, the promise of technology and science. Curtis Yarvin — A techno-pessimist manifesto.
It’s easy for people who grew up in the CCCP, as Marxism is an explicit variant and the CCCP is a messianic project in all its heart-stopping tragedy. That presumes thinking, and people do not like or accustomed to thinking.
Some messianic prophets are nothing but skilled writers. When Lenin died, Trotsky was the remaining writer-ideologist. Consider his impressive legacy. He comes from my paternal tiny shtetl Yanovka near Herson, but the man had big ideas. Trotsky didn’t know that his ideas were as old as the world. Trotsky believed in the cursed “change”.
P.S. I did some subscriber purging. If you do not actively participate in the project, via comments, likes, subscriptions, etc., you will be purged too. I no longer care for ghost readers. Broadly speaking, I do not care for ghost culture. If there is no exchange in money, emotions, bodily fluids, there is no deal.
The war, the deaths, makes you feel smaller. Things are less important, transactional connections are less important, there is less noise and there is much more noise. But it doesn't stick. In my endless search for friendships, I had to reevaluate my connection to people. So please unsubscribe.
