Sholem Dovber Schneersohn, Based, NRx Rebbe
"Hierarchies are celestial. In hell, all are equal" - Nicolás Gómez Dávila
The Reactionary or Neo-reactionary movement brings the new clarity and understanding to RASHAB, he was the first “based” Rabbi.
"Based" is a term that originated in internet culture and is used to describe someone or something that is authentic, unapologetic, and true to their beliefs or values. It can also refer to someone who is fearless or unafraid to express their opinions, even if they go against mainstream or politically correct views.
Neo-reactionary (also known as "NRx") is a political and social movement that emerged in the early 21st century as a critique of modern liberal democracy and progressivism. It is characterized by a rejection of mainstream conservatism and a desire to return to traditional forms of government and society.
Neo-reactionaries argue that liberal democracy is fundamentally flawed and unsustainable, and that it has led to a decline in social order, traditional values, and individual freedom. They advocate for a return to more hierarchical forms of government, often based on monarchy or other non-democratic systems.
In addition to its critiques of democracy and progressivism, neo-reactionary thought also tends to be highly critical of modern technology, mass culture, and globalization. Neo-reactionaries also embrace reactionary views on social issues, such as gender roles, race, and religion.
Neo-reactionary thought has been associated with various intellectual and cultural movements, including traditionalism, paleoconservatism, and the alt-right. Neo-reactionary has been associated with elitism, authoritarianism, monarchism.

Faced with the acculturation of the Russian Jewry that touched his family, Rashab was the reactionary in the purest sense possible.
When the majority of the Russian Jews, including his immediate family, actively embraced Socialism/Zionism, Rashab saw a unique connection between Schneersons and the Tzarske mishpoche, the true legacy of the Alter Rebbe (mentalblog-Alter Rebbe and Napoleon War of 1812). He certainly was a monarchist in the purest sense. He saw the fate and the future of the Jews in the Russian land under the Tsars. Furthermore, he placed a big bet on the political survival and triumph of the family of the monarch. In a way, this bet was placed for him by the Alter Rebbe in rejection of the Napoleon's war and the Liberal innovations of the French Revolution (we spoke about this on the Russian Podcast Прерванный Cон РАШАБA).
Rashab’s rejection of Zionism and Socialism went beyond חדש אסור מן התורה of the Chasam Sofer. It was affirmative to the monarchical structure, he saw a unique, eternal bond between the Russian Jews and the Tsars.
The contemporary neo-reactionary movement, as articulated by Curtis Yarvin, observes the American democracy exhausted and considers a monarchical, dictatorial structure as the only alternative. Notwithstanding the accusations of fascism, the monarchy is the state of the world for most of the history. Fascism is the only a subchapter in that long history of the dictatorial monarchy. Fascism was also more socialist than monarchical, hence the National Socialist German Workers' Party. And today, pretty much everyone who dares to think is a Nazi or neo-Nazi. Trump’s populist support and the constituency is the American working class. Yet, the American current regime reminds of Benito Mussolini’s description: “Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power.”
Ironically, America, founded on the rejection of the English crown, now completely consumed and obsessed by the Royal family. Imagine the same Royals who have been reduced, as Yarvin quips, to “Kardashians with class”, imagine those royals (or maybe not those exactly) with the real political power. Yarvin rediscovered the ideas of Thomas Carlyle, the original reactionary that rejected the French Revolution.
In the context of the American decay and the madness of the woke religion, there is a new appreciation of the Rashab. In the context of the horrors of the socialist Gulag in Russia and the Gulag revival under Putin, there is now a new understanding of the heroic and uncompromising stand taken by Sholem Dovber Schneersohn. He stood up to everyone, and he did not care, and he was right in the end.
Alas, the last Chabad Rebbe, the Ramash brought in the pragmatism and compromise as a substitute for the strength of convictions. The policy of gray nothingness is the motto of the current Chabad “leadership”. The managerial elite runs America. Chabad, as Barry Gourary observed, is run by “middle to lower managers”. Ramash’s legacy is a movement that doesn't take a stand on anything except the urgent desire to please its clients. While both Alter Rebbe and Rashab put their lives on the line as the collateral to their convictions.
The history of Chabad heroism under Stalin and after was the history of the Rashab uncompromising culture. The final tragic mockery of Sholem Dovber Schneersohn’s legacy is the current Chabad phenomena of the Lubavitchers that are 100% non-religious and still 100% Chabad. The final tragic mockery of Rashab is the Chabad that celebrates conformism and is trending liberal left to accommodate their clients and neighbors. I didn’t know this option was even available…
1912, Grand Duchess Anastasia, Grand Duchess Maria, Grand Duchess Olga, Grand Duchess Tatiana. Murdered with the Romanov family, shot by the communists on 16–17 of July in 1918. Color by Klimbim.
Very good.Let me add that it SEEMS that 6th Rebbe was not against Kerensky type regime.
The last Rebbe was an authoritarian leader like others of same stripe but obviously they were more violent,he left no successor,eg Porfirio Diaz,Stalin,Stroessner, etc.
This in essence led to anarchy and ultimately democracy which today's Chabad more or less is.
Can religion be run on democratic basis hardly in my opinion.Does religion need a dictator hardly, does religion need a spiritual guide, most certainly in my view.
Frankly by not stating his guide lines for future he basically was saying 2things.Its me forever and who cares now that I'm gone to my reward.
By the way Rashab was no difft than the other impt rebbe's of his time like Gerer,Belzer,Bobover Sigheter Rav,Slonimer, etc. They all opposed Zionism,Socialism etc they'll ruled like kings fought modernity and took remedial measures to attract the youth like Rashab, one can almost just substitute namesl
