There is "inside" Lubavitch and shlichus lubavitch, then there is the craziness in Tzfas, Kfar Chabad and what goes on in 770. Having been to many different places in the US I think you would fit in fine with an "inside" group on the light side, many have internalized grievances just like you but are able to see the joy in Lubavitch Chassdius.
