Re: “Any memories from Reb Zalman”

After reading this wonderful write-up, I asked my great-grandmother, Hadassah Carlebach (Reb Zalman’s daughter) if she had ever heard of this “Mr. Shoushani”. She told me that when in Paris, he had met with her father (it sounded to me that this happened more than once).

But being that she was “too young” at the time, she wasn’t invited to the conversations and never received any other info beyond her observation of the fact.

Yasher koach Reb Tzemach!

It saddens me to say so. I feel a certain connection, even closeness to Reb Zalman, I know the culture that he came from. And I feel a complete disconnect from his descendants. Only reacting to my post about Reb Zalman, that’s a bit insulting.

Reb Zalman turned out to be a true writer. I should look in Yivo, I bet there is more prose there.

I am surprised Hadassah even remembers. I didn't know you are one of the einikles.

BTW, I write on many subjects, but all Reb Zalman's grandchildren are only interested and comment to posts about Reb Zalman? Why?

I think the implication of this man is more serious than it seems. The view that the knowledge, specially knowledge of Torah, elevates the men to a different level. Shushani made a mockery of that concept.

Zalman, for your information, I take zero drugs. I think this should be the goal. I read this post again today and it is really fantastic. It is so good, it seems like someone else wrote it. It doesn't feel like I wrote it.

May I sound likea Lubavitcher for a moment. He was mysterious,he influenced a few dozen people but exactly what did he accomplish that impacted in any world?

Elite Weisel first write about him but how did he influence EWs public life!Did he help EWget his son a cushiony job at Goldman Sachs

As far as Rav Chaim Noe is concerned he was hardly your typical cultist hardly hardly!

My friend Bezalel Naor wrote about Shushani several years ago and seems to have resolved his identity.

Although RAMASH was not a confessor in Paris,he has changed the whole Jewish world like it or not.

After watching the film, EW really looks terrible. Like a man who is drowning in a PR machine. Has no time for what is important.

This might surprise to you Zalman, but you don't know everything, you are not Shushani.
