Why the American Right is Blind to Russia and the American Left is blind to America

America detached itself from the rest of the world but the ocean, and separated itself from the sense of history by the messianic thrust of the “City upon a Hill.” Waves of immigrants, even if not religious, shared messianic belief in the new life and world. Messianic belief in “progress and change”.

FDR

Some of it spelled out in the post Yarvin and the promise of American Monarchy. Let’s forget for a moment the domestic implication of the FDR revolution in creating the Deep State that went rogue after his death (by design). In the realm of foreign policy, FDR had the power to prevent WWII and the Holocaust (his inaction after the Holocaust started is well publicized). He misunderstood and misjudged the intentions of both Stalin and Hitler. Chronic American blindness to the rest of the world. As Yarvin says in the podcast: “FDR went to his grave thinking that Stalin works for him”.

The Deep State

After FDR, the American presidency has no (very limited) executive power, servicing as a ceremonial head of the Deep State. In politics, there is a merger of the Deep State and the Democratic Party. In part, this is because of justified fear that a strong, independent President can do damage (see FDR). This is the reason that the official media attacks Trump so relentlessly, and now we have the so-called lawfare.

American Right

The naive hope that if America (the ruling Deep State and the Democrats) is so bad, the side that opposes it must good. I cannot tell you how widespread and uniformed this stupidity is. Especially now that Putin is pedaling towards the revival of the Stalinist totalitarian state. It’s not just Tucker Carlson.

American Left

The American left inherited the Protestant messianic ethos of progress and change (Wasps are the original formative base of the Democrat Party). At this point, it’s an intolerant religion. Americans are no longer religious, but religion has transferred itself to the belief in imminent “progress and change”. Like all religions in history, when fused with power, it can’t contain the temptation, the urge to change the world by force. Always the same excuse, it’s for the better. This belief in change is the root of the deadly poison. Humanity has been sick with change, and it causes all of our fatal tragedies. Blame the Judeo-Christian messianic legacy.
