Yarvin and the promise of American Monarchy
Will Monarchy supplant Oligarchy of the Deep State?
On the subject of Equality and Hierarchy. These two podcasts are distinct because of the quality of the interviewers:
1. Matt Asher interviews Curtis Yarvin:
This podcast originally aired live two years ago on February 7, 2022, via Florida NPR. I cut out the second part for clarity of the theme. The full podcast: Matt Asher Filter — Ep. 60.
2. Charlie Kirk interviews Curtis Yarvin:
This podcast originally aired live on January 17, 2024. I cleaned up the ads, sorry Charlie. The source: Charlie Kirk — The REAL way to dismantle the Deep State.
(Do you recognize the fashion of the Russian officer on the right, for example? Complete with a beard, kasket and a gartel. And the Tsar himself for that matter. Down to the golden and red velvet chair. They basically stole and adopted everything, even ideas.)
Monarchy
In both podcasts and his posts, Yarvin refers to the three forms of government according to Aristotle: Monarchy, Oligarchy and Democracy. But the Aristotle identifies six:
Aristotle classified governments based on two key criteria: the number of rulers and the nature of the rulership. He identified six forms of government, which he further categorized into two main types: “correct” or “deviant”; for the “common good” and for “self-interest”.
Monarchy: Rule by a single individual.
Tyranny: Rule by a single individual who seeks their own interests at the expense of the common good. Tyranny is characterized by the ruler's abuse of power.
Aristocracy: Rule by a small group of virtuous and capable individuals.
Oligarchy: Rule by a small, privileged group that works in its own interests, neglecting the well-being of the broader community.
Polity: Rule by the many, representing the interests of the entire community. Polity is a form of government where power is distributed among the citizens, and it aims for the common good.
Democracy: Rule by the majority, which may lead to decisions made for the benefit of the majority but potentially at the expense of minority rights. Aristotle was critical of democracy, especially when it devolves into ochlocracy, a mob rule.
Why this important because Aristotle warns that Monarchy can turn into Tyranny (Yarvin deliberately sidesteps the subject). Despite all the revolutions, Russia knows the single form of government: monarchical tyranny. The examples of monarchy today are all tyrannical: Putin, China, Saudi Arabia, perhaps even Iran (Khomeini was actually inspired by Plato).
Oligarchy
It took me a while to understand that what Yarvin calls Oligarchy is actually the Deep State or Administrative State. I kept imagining real Oligarchs in charge. The Deep State Oligarchy is undoubtedly the current American system. The ceremonial Presidency with the current figurehead demented ruler. The sabotage of the Trump presidency, the impeachment and judicial abuse AKA “lawfare” unleashed on Trump, testifies to the fact. James Burnham described this in The Managerial Revolution (1941).
Democracy
Democracy or Polity or the trial by Jury of equals can only function in a society composed of a homogenous population. All the calls for democracy in Israel or the USA is the charade to conceal the real power.
